The Royal College of Arts, Science & Commerce – a dream project of the Founder, Asgar E. Lakdawala, was established in June 1989 and governed by Royal Higher Education Society. BRIEF HISTORY OF THE GOVERNING TRUST :The Royal Society of Bombay was founded on 28th December 1966 by Asgar E. Lakdawala, a poor S.S.C. student at the time. He gathered together a very small group of four friends of his age hailing from poor families, and who had a spirit of service, sacrifice and understanding. The sole mission of the group was ‘Educational upliftment of poor and needy students of the Bohra Community’. Since 1966, year after year, increasing number of benefactors from Bohra community realized the importance of the mission set by the founder, and today there are about 600 life and patron members associated with the trust. Since inception, the trust has strived to provide the basic needs of education, such as school bus service, payment of school fees, distribution of books , uniform and stationery to the underprivileged students. In the year 1986, while working as a lecturer at Elphinstone College, Founder of the trust dreamt of establishing an Arts, Science and Commerce College and founded Royal Higher Education Society for the same purpose. For bringing his dream into reality, he with his likeminded co-workers requested the philanthropists from Bohra Community to donate funds for the college project. Philanthropists realised his vision , mission and understood the zeal with which he was requesting for funds. The plot of land admeasuring 10,186 square meters for this Educational Campus was generously donated by Late Ismailbhai Kanga, the then Chairman of Srishti Housing Complex. . The financial support from the community resulted in establishing the Royal College of Arts, Science and Commerce in 1989. The present shape of the campus is the result of the continuous generous financial support from the philanthropists. Under the aegis of Royal Higher Education Society, in the same campus, following educational institutes have been set up Royal’s Hussain Adamally Girls’ High School (English Medium) – Estd . 1995Royal’s Yousuf Zaveri Girls’ Urdu School – Estd. 2001Taher Adamali College of Education for Women – Estd. 2012The trust aims at the education of the Bohra and non-Bohra Muslim community and extends its facilities to other communities. Shailendra Education Society’s Arts, Commerce and Science College was established in 1994 with the launch of Commerce faculty. The Arts faculty was started in the year 1996. The college began with the primary objective of providing education to the lower socio-economic strata of the society who are very often the first generation learners. To increase the employability of the students the college launched self-finance courses from 2004 onwards. Under the self-finance courses BBI, BMS and B.Sc. (IT) courses are offered. The college has been sanctioned Research Centre in the Subject of Business Economics under the faculty of Commerce The College has undergone NAAC reaccreditation process in November 2011 and has been awarded B grade with CGPA of 2.92.

Shankar Narayan College of Arts and Commerce was established in 1994 with a vision to provide Higher and Professional Education in the vicinity of Mira-Bhayandar. The college is permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai and recognised under Section 2(f) and 12(b) of UGC Act and accredited by NAAC with 'A' grade in 2017. The college provides a stimulating, safe and supportive environment, in which students aim for success. The college started with 47 students and over the years, College has grown both quantitatively and qualitatively having around 7000+ student - strength. Presently college runs B.Com, B.A. degree courses and Professional Courses like Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Banking and Insurance (BBI), Bachelor in Accounting and Finance (BAF), B. Sc. I. T. and also started B.Sc. Computer Science, Bachelor in Financial Market(BFM).PG Degree Course in Information Technology (M.Sc.I.T.) has also been started which is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and recognized by the Government of Maharashtra. The college has started specialised Post Graduation Course – MMS (Master in Management Studies) in the name of Rohidas Patil Institute of Management Studies. The trust has also established Pravin Patil College of Diploma Engineering & Technology to cater the need of technical education in Mira-Bhayander area.Although the Trust has established educational institutions to cater for the needs of the society, the members of the trust felt that they should also setup a new institute to help students to choose right careers and prepare for appearing at the various competitive examinations held in the country by UPSC, MPSC, Railways, Banks and such other bodies. They realised that no such institute existed between Bandra and Dahanu in the Western suburbs and our institution could fill this gap. A decision was therefore taken by the trustees to establish Pramila Institute of Administrative Careers with competent faculty, office staff and infrastructure from 2010 – 11.Quality and excellence is the aim of the institution. The college makes sincere efforts towards empowerment of students by providing innovative teaching and learning facility.The comprehensive and value based education has been the benchmark achieved by the entire stakeholders of the institution.
